2 students holding their light-bright project Students Working Together

Human & Social

Our students will study personal and human social skills and as they relate to students' identity in the world - both as individuals and as members of their community. We are learning that personal and human social skills encompass the abilities students needs to thrive as individuals, to understand and care about themselves and others, and to find and achieve their purposes in the world.

Goals

  • Improve student sense of well-being.

At Mountain Elementary, we prioritize student well-being by creating inclusive and supportive spaces where every child feels connected and safe.

As the year began, each student created their own dot for Dot Day, leaving a unique mark on our school and symbolizing their place in our community. In October, we came together for a school-wide field trip to the pumpkin patch, learning from nature and strengthening our sense of belonging.

Our classrooms and playgrounds foster resilience and inclusion, encouraging students to navigate challenges, celebrate successes, and support one another.
By nurturing trust, joy, and community, we help grow confident learners who are grounded in positive relationships and have a strong sense of self.
